This closed policy meeting focuses exclusively on energy developments, especially following the ongoing war in Ukraine. The global, and even more so the European, developments around energy and green transition goals are significant and rapid, only to be expedited by the crisis in Ukraine. This policy meeting aims to explore the specific issues from a Cypriot perspective, and more specifically on the challenges in keeping up with the developments and whether it can transition in sync with the rest of Europe, or whether there is a need for more corrective measures and bold political decisions. At the same time, the meeting will also focus on the potential opportunities for Cyprus given the crisis and the renewed European interest for alternative natural gas options. As is the case with all similar closed policy meetings, following the event the Institute will produce relevant policy paper recommendations.
