Dr. Koktsidis's research paper examines the means through which Turkey's soft power policy manifests itself in the occupied territories in Cyprus. The paper also examines the effects of this policy, which is complementary, as he notes, to traditional policies based on military, diplomatic and economic dependence. This work is the first part of a wider study, which also examines the corresponding soft power policies implemented by Turkey in the Balkans, with the main recipients being the Muslim communities, reaching some fundamental conclusions in relation to similarities but also particularities which exist in each respective case. The second part of the study will be published in January 2023.
