Bio

Dr. Panagiotis Christias is Tenured Associate Professor of Political and Social Philosophy of the University of Cyprus, He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with a Master’s Degree (Diploma) on Fluid and Nuclear Engineering. He continued his studies on Philosophy, Political and Social Sciences in the Sorbonne and the EHESS, in Paris, where he obtained a PhD on Sociology (Université Paris Descartes, summa cum laude) and a PhD on Philosophy (Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, summa cum laude). He specializes in political and social philosophy. He has taught and given lectures in numerous Universities throughout the world and published more than sixty scientific works in seven languages. His last book retraces the Paulinian connivances to platonic thinking (Platon et Paul au bord de l’abîme. Pour une politique katéchontique, Paris, Vrin, 2014). He is currently preparing a book on the Aristotelian influences of Edmund Burke (Edmund Burke or the Mirror of Reason (provisional title), Boston-Leiden, Brill, under contract). Panagiotis Christias has worked on many occasions with public and private Institutions in matter of social democracy, public liberties, strategic marketing analysis.
