Given the lack of visibility and understanding of what is happening in the Turkish Cypriot community, the Institute for Political and Democratic Studies created the Turkish Cypriot Issues Analysis Unit, with the aim of systematically collecting, reviewing and presenting news and articles concerning the events in the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus.

The material is drawn from open sources on the internet and includes English-speaking, Greek-speaking and Turkish-speaking press. The news is presented either as is or in the form of brief overviews, with the assistance of modern automatic translation tools (Google Translate). Due to the nature of automatic translation, terms, institutions or characterizations used by the Turkish Cypriot press are rendered as is, without quotation marks or interpretative interventions.

The page is updated on a daily basis, with the aim of providing immediate and timely information. This effort is supported by Institute associates as well as selected scientists and analysts, who enrich the primary information with analyses, opinion articles and interventions in the media. Our goal is to fill the significant information gap in the Greek Cypriot community and to enhance understanding of the developments and trends taking shape in Turkish Cypriot society.
