Information on elections



On 9 July, presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan. The results are as follows:

Electoral results

Shavkat Mirziyoyev- Independent: 13,625,055 votes, 87.71%
Robaxon Maxmudova - Justice Social Democratic Party: 693,634 votes, 4.47%
Ulugbek Inoyatov - People's Democratic Party: 629,116 votes, 4.05%
Abdushukur Xamzayev - Ecological Party of Uzbekistan: 585,711 votes, 3.77%

About the electoral system
In Uzbekistan, the President is chosen through a two-round voting process. If no candidate wins more than half the votes in the initial round, a second round is held between the top two candidates.
