General Information
On November 24, 2024, the second round of the presidential elections was held in Uruguay, with the left-wing alliance candidate Frente Amplio, Yamandú Orsi, winning the presidency. Orsi defeated Álvaro Delgado of the ruling right-wing party Partido Nacional (National Party) with 49.8% of the vote, compared to 45.9% for Delgado. The winner will assume office on March 1, 2025, with Carolina Cosse as vice president, who will be the third consecutive woman to hold this position in the country. The results are as follows:

Electoral System Uruguay's electoral system is a proportional representation system with two rounds for the presidential election, if no candidate manages to win more than 50% of the vote in the first round. If this occurs, a second round is held between the two leading candidates.
