This Closed Working Meeting was held within the framework of a broader program of the Institute of Studies for Politics and Democracy that aims to contribute to the formulation of a strategy around critical issues concerning the future of the country. In this Meeting, the discussion focused on the geopolitical aspects concerning the Cyprus-Greece electrical interconnection and examined, among other issues, such as:

-What is the concept of geopolitical risk in similar projects and how is it addressed?

-How likely is Turkey to attempt to obstruct the project and in what ways can it attempt this?

-Which other geopolitical actors have an interest in the non-implementation of the project?

-Can geopolitical risk be transformed into a geopolitical opportunity?

-What is the importance of having a national security strategy for the promotion of similar projects?

This Meeting was held under the Chatham House Rule, to facilitate open discussion and free reflection.
