The parliamentary elections in South Korea were held on April 10, 2024 to elect the 300 members of the National Assembly. The results were as follows:
Election Results:
Single-Member Constituencies:
People Power Party / People Future Party: 10,395,264 votes (36.67%), 18 seats
Democratic Alliance: 7,567,459 votes (26.70%), 14 seats
Rebuilding Korea Party: 6,874,278 votes (24.25%), 12 seats
Reform Party: 1,025,775 votes (3.62%), 2 seats
Proportional Representation:
People Power Party / People Future Party: 13,179,769 votes (45.08%), 90 seats
Democratic Alliance: 15,075,279 votes (51.57%), 162 seats
Reform Party: 195,147 votes (0.67%), 1 seat
New Future Party: 200,502 votes (0.69%), 1 seat
Electoral System:
South Korea uses a mixed electoral system: 254 members are elected through a first-past-the-post system in single-member districts. The remaining 46 seats are allocated through proportional representation based on the national party vote, using the largest remainder method. To be eligible for a proportional seat, a party must receive at least 3% of the national vote or win at least 5 single-member districts.
