General Information
Parliamentary elections were held in Romania on 1 December 2024 to elect 331 members of the House of Representatives and 131 members of the Senate. The results are as follows:

Senate Election Results:
Social Democratic Party (Romania): 36 Seats, 2,030,144 votes, 21.96%
Alliance for the Union of Romanians: 28 Seats, 1,665,143 votes, 18.01%
National Liberal Party (Romania): 22 Seats, 1,219,810 votes, 13.20%
Save Romania Union: 19 Seats, 1,146,357 votes, 12.40%
S.O.S. Romania: 12 Seats, 679,967 votes, 7.36%
Party of Young People: 7 Seats, 596,745 votes, 6.46%
Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania: 10 Seats, 585,397 votes, 6.33%
Romanian ethnic minority parties: No Seats, 129,282 votes, 1.40%

Electoral System:
To obtain a majority in the Senate, a political party needs to secure 68 Seats, and for the House of Representatives, 166 Seats are required. The electoral process is conducted in 43 multi-member constituencies, the Municipality of Bucharest, and the Romanian diaspora using proportional representation with a party list.
