General Information
The parliamentary elections in Madagascar were held on May 29, 2024 to elect the 163 members of the National Assembly, following an increase in the number of seats from 151. The results were as follows:

Election Results:
Together with President Andry Rajoelina: 2,184,887 votes (41.75%), 84 seats
Firaisankina: 779,500 votes (14.90%), 22 seats
FIVOI: 125,431 votes (2.40%), 4 seats
Kôlektifa an'ny Malagasy: 103,144 votes (1.97%), 1 seat
Green Party of Madagascar: 34,932 votes (0.67%), 1 seat
GJMP: 17,708 votes (0.34%), 1 seat
Independent Candidates: 1,965,687 votes (37.56%), 50 seats

Other parties (no representation):
Vonjy Iray Tsy Mivaky: 4,909 votes (0.09%)
Manaranara Fanilo: 3,766 votes (0.07%)
Malagasy Revolutionary Party: 3,264 votes (0.06%)
Fanorolahy: 2,849 votes (0.05%)
Fandrosoa Faritsy iaby ho an'i Madagasikara: 2,456 votes (0.05%)
LEADER-Fanilo: 2,410 votes (0.05%)

Electoral System:
Madagascar uses a parallel electoral system for its National Assembly: 77 members are elected in single-member districts by a first-past-the-post system. The remaining 86 seats are elected in 43 two-member constituencies through closed-list proportional representation using the highest averages method. Members of parliament serve a five-year term. For the 2024 elections, over 450 candidates contested the seats.
