Information on Elections


On October 13 and October 27, 2024, parliamentary elections were held in Lithuania to elect the 141 members of the Seimas. The results are as follows:

Social Democratic Party of Lithuania: 52 seats, 19.32%
Homeland Union: 28 seats, 18%
Dawn of Nemunas: 20 seats, 14.97%
Union of Democrats "For Lithuania": 14 seats, 9.22%
Liberals' Movement: 12 seats, 7.70%
Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union: 8 seats, 7.02%
Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania—Christian Families Alliance: 3 seats, 3.88%
National Alliance: 1 seat, 2.87%
Freedom and Justice: 1 seat, 0.77%
INDEPENDENTS: 2 seats, -%

Description of the electoral system

The Seimas has 141 members, elected for four-year terms by parallel voting, with 71 members elected in single-member constituencies under the two-round system and 70 members elected by proportional representation. Voting in the elections is open to all citizens of Lithuania who are at least 18 years old.
