Election Information


General Information:
On April 12, 2025, the first presidential elections since the fall of the Bongo dynasty were held. Voter turnout reached 70%, the highest since the 1993 presidential elections. The presidential race was won by Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of the Rassemblement des Bâtisseurs. Other candidates included Alain-Claude Bilie By Nze of Rassemblement pour le Gabon, Joseph Lapensée Essigon (independent), Ginga Channing Zenaba (independent), Alain Simplice Gombé of the Parti patriotique gabonais, Stéphane Germaine Iloko of the Large Rassemblement arc-en-ciel, Axel Stoffen Ibingha Ibingha (independent), and Thierry Yvon Michel Ngoma (independent).

Election Results:
Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema / Rassemblement des Bâtisseurs: 588,074 votes, 94.85%
Alain-Claude Bilie By Nze / Rassemblement pour le Gabon: 19,265 votes, 3.11%
Joseph Lapensée Essigon / Independent: 3,744 votes, 0.60%
Ginga Channing Zenaba / Independent: 2,419 votes, 0.39%
Alain Simplice Gombé / Parti patriotique gabonais: 2,299 votes, 0.37%
Stéphane Germaine Iloko / Large Rassemblement arc-en-ciel: 2,214 votes, 0.36%
Axel Stoffen Ibingha Ibingha / Independent: 1,384 votes, 0.22%
Thierry Yvon Michel Ngoma / Independent: 601 votes, 0.10%

Electoral System:
The president of Gabon is elected for a seven-year term using a two-round system.
