About the electoral system

The first-past-the-post voting system is used to choose the president.

The 19 districts are used to create multi-member constituencies from which the 100 members of the Chamber of Deputies are chosen using a closed-list proportional representation system with a 10% electoral threshold. A 10% electoral threshold and closed-list proportional representation are used to elect 55 of the Senate's 70 members from the same 19 electoral districts. 15 more members are appointed.
