Information on Elections
On December 10–12, 2023, elections were held in Egypt to elect the president. The results were as follows:
Abdel Fattah el-Sisi: 39,702,451 votes, 89.65
Hazem Omar: 1,986,352 votes, 4.49%
About the electoral system
The two-round method is used for the electoral process in Egypt. Egyptian citizens who have both Egyptian parents have the right to be elected; they and their parents or spouses are prohibited from holding dual citizenship. Candidates must have completed their military service and completed 40 years.
