On December 17, 2023, a referendum was held in Chile to vote on the revision of the Constitution. The results as follows:
Upvoted: 5,470,025 votes, 44.24%
Voted against: 6,894,287 votes, 55.76%
Void/White: 650,639, 5.00%
Total: 13,014,951, 100%
About the electoral system
A new text of the Constitution was drawn up by a committee of experts and approved by the Council on October 30, 2023. The October constitutional referendum was rejected by the Chilean people, as was the previous attempt to revise the Constitution on September 4, 2022.
