Description of the Electoral System:
The President and Vice President are elected directly by the electorate. A candidate needs an absolute majority (50% + 1) to be elected in the first round. If this threshold is not met, the top two candidates face each other in a second round. At the same time, 36 members of the Senate and 130 members of the Chamber of Deputies are elected through universal and secret ballot. All citizens over 18 years old have the right to vote.
