General Information
On January 9, 2024, National Assembly elections were held in Bhutan. The results are as follows:

Election Results:
Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa: 30 seats, 133,217 votes (42.54%)
Bhutan Tendrel Party: 17 seats, 61,331 votes (19.58%)

Other parties (no representation):
Druk Phuensum Tshogpa: 46,694 votes (14.91%)
Bhutan Unity Party: 41,106 votes (13.13%)
Bhutan Alliance Party: 30,814 votes (9.84%)

Electoral System:
The 47 members of the National Assembly are elected from single-member constituencies. Primary elections are held in which voters cast their ballots for candidates from registered political parties. The votes for all candidates of the same party are then aggregated nationwide. The two parties that receive the most votes advance to the second round and may field the same or different candidates. The second round of elections is held using a first-past-the-post system.
