Electoral System

In the 2025 elections, Moldova elects its 101 parliamentary seats using a proportional representation system. Seats are distributed proportionally among parties or alliances that surpass the electoral thresholds: 5% for individual parties, 7% for two-party alliances, and 11% for alliances of three or more parties. Voters cast their ballots for a party or alliance, rather than individual candidates, and majorities are determined by the total number of seats each party or alliance secures.
