General Information
On January 7-8, 2024, elections were held in Bangladesh for the position of Prime Minister. The results were as follows:
Sheikh Hasina: 74.63%, 257 seats
Ghulam Muhammed Quader: 5.22%, 26 seats
About the electoral system:
The Parliament of Bangladesh consists of 350 members, of which 300 are elected from single-member territorial constituencies. Their term is five years. 50 of the seats are specifically designated for women, a number that is determined proportionally based on the vote from the 300 constituencies.
