This Agreement was concluded in 2021 and concerns the paramount importance of the action and support of climate-related efforts within this decade. There is dialogue for providing the necessary funding to strengthen the efforts to tackle the effects of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Subsequently, the effort to limit the rise in global temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius is of great significance. For the first time, nations are being called upon to discontinue the unsustainable use of coal-fired energy, and the provision of inefficient subsidies for fossil fuels. Finally, the Glasgow Agreement complements the rules of the Paris Agreement on market mechanisms and non-commercial approaches, as well as transparency on climate action reporting and the support provided or received, including losses and damage.
