Electoral system:

The 250-seat Syrian People's Assembly is elected through party coalition voting in 15 multi-member constituencies. Voters choose a list of candidates and the list with the majority secures all the seats in the district. Each list must include at least two-thirds of the Baath Party members and half of the workers and farmers, a total of 127 of the 250 deputies.

Voting did not take place in rebel-held northwestern Syria or the contested northeastern region, and Syrians abroad were excluded from voting.
