General Information:
The general elections in Liechtenstein were held on February 9, 2025 to elect the 25 members of the Parliament (Landtag).
Election Results:
Patriotic Union (Vaterländische Union - VU): 10 seats, 79,478 votes (38.3%)
Progressive Citizens' Party (Progressive Citizens' Party - FBP): 7 seats, 56,983 votes (27.5%)
Democrats for Liechtenstein (Democrats for Liechtenstein - DpL): 6 seats, 48,370 votes (23.3%)
Free List (Free List - FL): 2 seats, 22,549 votes (10.9%)
Electoral System:
The electoral system in Liechtenstein is proportional with open lists. There are two electoral districts, Oberland and Unterland, with Oberland electing 15 deputies and Unterland 10. There is an 8% threshold for a party to enter parliament, which makes it difficult for smaller parties to gain entry.
