General Information
The referendum held on June 8, 2025, in Italy aimed to repeal four labor laws, two of which were originally introduced as part of the Jobs Act in 2016, as well as amend the law regarding the acquisition of Italian citizenship by foreign residents. However, due to low voter turnout, the referendum failed, as it did not reach the required 50% + 1 threshold of registered voters for validity.

Referendum Results:
In favor: 12,666,396 votes, 83.85%
Against: 2,213,566 votes, 14.65%
Abstentions/Blank votes: 206,447 votes, 1.50%

Electoral System:
In Italian referendums, a minimum voter turnout of 50% plus one vote is required for the referendum to be considered valid. In this case, the turnout was approximately 30%, falling short of the necessary threshold.
