The Institute of Political and Democracy Studies organizes in collaboration with the Neapolis University of Paphos, on December 13 at 5:30 p.m., at the Municipal Theater "Attikon" an evening with the theme "Modern Wars and New Threats in the Age of Multiple Crises".
The conference is held on the occasion of the recent publication by the Institute of Political and Democracy Studies of the book "Cyprus in the Age of Multiple Crises: The Great Challenges in 24 Questions and Answers".
The evening will focus on the conduct of modern wars with a focus on the two ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, in conjunction with the emergence of new security challenges, fueling new crises. In this light, we attempt to examine how modern states, and especially small states, such as Cyprus, can overall strengthen their resilience in the new era of multiple crises. How are new hybrid threats effectively addressed and what is the importance of having a national security strategy? How can the European Union contribute to addressing the new security challenges? What is the role of NATO and what is the importance of participating in collective security schemes, especially for small states?
