General Information:
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Bulgaria on October 2, 2022. The early elections were called following the collapse of the Petkov government in June 2022. The election results were as follows:
Election Results:
GERB-SDS: 634,627 votes, 25.33%, 67 seats
We Continue the Change: 506,099 votes, 20.20%, 53 seats
Movement for Rights and Freedoms: 344,512 votes, 13.75%, 36 seats
Revival: 254,952 votes, 10.18%, 27 seats
BSP for Bulgaria: 232,958 votes, 9.30%, 25 seats
Democratic Bulgaria: 186,528 votes, 7.45%, 20 seats
Bulgarian Rise Electoral Alliance: 115,872 votes, 4.63%, 12 seats
Electoral System Description:
The 240 members of the National Assembly are elected through open-list proportional representation from 31 multi-member constituencies, each with between 4 and 16 seats. The electoral threshold is 4% for parties, and seats are allocated using the largest remainder method.
