Marinos Papaioakeim

Bio

Dr. Marinos Papaioakeim is a researcher in the filed of international relations, diplomacy, and defence. He worked as a research associate at the School of Law of the University of Nicosia and as the Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society Cyprus. He also worked as teaching assistant and special scientist of research at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus. He has a Bachelor degree in History from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Cyprus. Following his Bachelor’s degree, he completed an MA in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy at Lancaster University in UK. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Diplomacy and International Relations at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus and his PhD thesis examines the Small States Defence Diplomacy in Protracted Conflicts. His main research interests include, among others, Defence/Military Diplomacy, Small States, Public Diplomacy, Soft Power, Transformational Diplomacy, History of Diplomacy.
